Curbside Pickup Starting July 13, 2020
The library is still closed to the public and computers will not
be available. Curbside Pickup will be by appointment only. You
must call the library to schedule a time to pick up your items the next
business day.
AVAILABLE TO RIVERDALE RESIDENTS ONLY! Pickup hours
are Monday-Thursday from 10am – 3pm. The Book
drop is now open. How does
Curbside Pickup Work?
1.
Place a hold for items you would like in
our Catalog,
the app on your phone, or contact the library and we will place the hold
for you.
2.
When your items comes in, if you have it
setup for email notifications, you will receive a notice that your item
is ready for pickup. If you do not have your account set to receive
notifications, the library will contact you when your items comes in.
You must contact the library to set up a time to pick up your items.
Please have your library card available so that we can collect your
information to check out your items.
3.
When you arrive at your scheduled
appointment time, call the library at 708-841-3311 when you arrive in
the parking lot. There will be a 15 minute window available after your
schedule time. If you do not arrive within that time, you will need to
reschedule a pickup for the next day. Please open your trunk or unlock
the back door of your vehicle. Give us a description of your car. PLEASE
DO NOT GET OUT OF YOUR VEHICLE. A
staff member will verify your name and will place your items in the
trunk or back seat of your car. Library staff CANNOT receive any items
from you at curbside. Please put all returned books in the book drop.
CD’s and DVD’s CANNOT BE PLACE IN
THE BOOK DROP. There is a mail slot in the front door you can place
those items in. You will be charged if you return these items in the
book drop.
4.
All items will be checked out for 2 weeks
with the option of renewing them.
5.
Upon return, all items will be checked in
and quarantined so they will not be immediately available for checkout
until after 3 days. Our staff
are here and ready to help! We can suggest books, movies, and audiobooks for
you and your family and select title that match your interests. We can answer your questions about eBooks. Faxing
Service will be available by appointment only. Please call the library
at 708-841-3311 to set up a time. Library card
expiration dates have been extended to January 1, 2021 and could be
extended further until the library is open to the public. For more information, contact the library at 708-841-3311. |
